Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is the treatment of a wide range of conditions and injuries to the body through the use of various types of passive mobilisation, massage, electrotherapy and exercise. It may also include taping and strapping and lifestyle advice.
Acupuncture may be used with other physiotherapy treatment techniques to enhance pain relief. All physiotherapists practising acupuncture at the clinic are members of the AACP (Acupuncture of Chartered Physiotherapists)
Neck & back Injuries
We are able to help with:
- Disc problems
- Postural low back pain
- Whiplash
- Headaches and stress
- Bending or lifting injuries
Following a detailed assessment to ensure an accurate diagnosis a treatment plan is developed. This might include:
- Mobilisation or manipulation
- Exercise and advice
- Electrotherapy
- Postural and ergonomic advice
- Core stability exercises
Prompt treatment of spinal conditions is recommended. Long periods sitting at a computer with poor posture can contribute to low back pain and ergonomic advice is very beneficial.
Muscle & Joint Problems
We are able to restore function to muscles, ligaments, joints and bones. All parts of the body can be treated.
Physiotherapy treatments will help you return back to your normal activities as soon as possible after injury.
Treatments may include manual therapy and rehabilitation. It may be followed by a programme of exercises specific to the patient aimed at full recovery and prevention of further injuries.
Sports & Soft Tissue Injuries
Physiotherapy will speed up the rate of recovery by reducing swelling and preventing joint stiffness. Early treatment will also help minimise tissue damage and provide for a quicker return to sport.
Whatever the injury whether it is a strain, sprain or bruise and whatever the sport, early treatment will allow for a quicker and more thorough recovery.
